REFLECTIONS
Module Learning:
At the start of this course, I set out to improve my communication and critical thinking skills. Reflecting on my progress, I can confidently say that I have made significant strides in both areas. Through group discussions, presentations, and assignments, I have learned to express my ideas more clearly, both verbally and in writing. I have become more adept at breaking down complex concepts into simple, understandable points, which has not only enhanced my communication but also deepened my understanding of the material. In terms of critical thinking, I’ve developed a stronger ability to analyze problems from multiple perspectives, evaluate evidence, and challenge assumptions. By engaging with different viewpoints and critiquing arguments, I’ve honed my analytical skills and become more confident in making well-reasoned decisions. However, there are still areas where I can improve. For communication, I often find myself over-explaining points, which can sometimes make my message less concise. To improve this, I plan to focus on delivering key messages more efficiently. In critical thinking, while I’ve become more open to alternative perspectives, I recognize that I need to challenge my own assumptions more rigorously. Moving forward, I plan to continue seeking opportunities for public speaking and engage more in debates and discussions to further develop these skills. By actively seeking feedback and practicing reflective thinking, I believe I can continue to refine both my communication and critical thinking abilities, applying them more effectively in both academic and professional contexts.
Project Learning:
Through this project, I’ve not only improved my presentation and report writing skills but also learned a lot about my approach to learning and self-improvement. In terms of presentation skills, I initially focused too much on delivering every detail, but over time, I realized that the most impactful presentations are those that distill complex ideas into clear, memorable points. This taught me the importance of simplicity and focus, which has changed my perspective on learning. I now see that effective communication is not about overwhelming the audience with information, but about engaging them with the key ideas in a structured way. This process made me more aware of how important body language and vocal delivery are in making a presentation successful, and I now understand that confidence plays a big role in conveying information effectively.
When it comes to report writing, I learned that good writing is not just about putting ideas on paper, but about organizing them logically and ensuring that each section flows seamlessly to the next. Initially, my reports were too dense, but I realized that structure, clarity, and conciseness are essential in delivering a strong argument. This project also taught me that writing is an iterative process—feedback from peers and revisions helped me refine my ideas and improve the quality of my work. Reflecting on this, I now see that learning is not a one-time process, but an ongoing cycle of feedback, revision, and refinement. Moving forward, I will take these lessons with me, using the skills I’ve honed in writing and presenting to approach future projects more strategically and with a clearer focus on delivering key messages efficiently.
